Random Thursday Post: Instructional Porn!

October 20, 2011

OK. It’s not porn. Well. There are naked ladybits, and technically they’re having sex…. I guess. But it’s for educational purposes!

Regardless. I highly recommend this clip for anyone who:

  1. Loves vaginas
  2. Has a vagina
  3. Is interested in being better at playing with vaginas.

Really. Seriously. Best. Video. On. This. Ever.

Fuckin’ A. I learned something. No, more than just something – a lot. And that, my friends, is saying something.

But. REALLY REALLY NSFW!!!! In fact, so much so, I can’t seem to get WordPress to embed the actual video, you have to use the link. It’s probably that “youporn” thing. I swear it’s ok – I’ve watched it like 5 dozen times.

There are several things I particularly like about this. One, the woman instructing uses such straight-forward language, and she’s just so out-there about the pussy. “Here it is, ladies and gentlemen, and here’s what you do with it.” Two, she also clearly enjoys what she’s doing, even if she’s focused on telling you all about it. Despite that, three, there’s no voyeurism in it – which is why I say it’s not really porn. It’s not two ladies gettin’ it on for your benefit. They don’t even show the orgasming part – which clearly is gonna happen. It’s way more than that. Four, there’s no “oh, hey, we’re lesbians” happening – no sexuality-defining discussions. Because that isn’t important.

Finally, as Betty White said, “Why do people say ‘grow some balls’? Balls are weak and sensitive. If you wanna be tough, grow a vagina. Those things can take a pounding.” (thanks for that, Simone Grant!)

For these reasons, not only is this SO AWESOME, it’s also so accessible, for anyone with a pussy or who wants to please one. There’s no weirdness about sex, no shame, no hiding, because there shouldn’t be. And, if you’re going to be weirded out, just freakin’ watch it until you get past your weirdness. I’m talking to you, ladies who are weird about vaginas.

I mean, we are so fucking weird about the pussy, aren’t we? We rarely talk about what to do with her in frank terms, we pretend she’s this poor lil flower, and heavens to betsy! don’t look at her! She’s somehow this very intimidating, yet shameful (maybe even dirty) place. We make fun of or even shame men for not knowing what to do with her – but, as women, we’re just as afraid of or shamed by her, too.

But do even us ladies know what to do with our bits? It can be SO hard for women to overcome stigmas to even start masturbating!

Anyway. I am sure I have more to say on our collective fascination/intimidation/shamefulness surrounding the all-powerful Pussy. But this lil clip? Not only learned so much, but somehow also so refreshing. And I don’t say that just because I like the vag.

And, PS? As a side note? Who says all porn stars are poor little victims forced into the trade? Thanks, ladies!

PPS If you are wondering about the woman in charge here, her name is Nina Hartley. She’s pretty awesomesauce (outspoken sex-positive feminist types, all over the sex ed stuff) and she has plenty more instructional vids at her website (which is, of course, Adults Only).

      Really. It is fabulous.

However – I would mention that vaginas, like everything else in our bodies and our minds, are going to respond differently for everyone. I don’t think *everything* in this vid will be awesome for *everyone* – but it’s still very educational, and I do know for a fact that there are many in things in there that work for women I’ve been with. And work well.

Absolutely awesome. Hm, I wonder if it would be inappropriate for me to post this on my Match profile, with instructions for guys to watch it? Maybe better to get to the 5th date first…

    Thanks for sharing!

Ha ha ha! Sometimes I think we’d all be better of if we lived in a society where posted our sexual preferences (the details!) was completely normal. That would mean we didn’t have all this weirdness about sex, and we’d have come to terms with the fact that sex, and what you like about it, are integral to a great relationship.

But, as it stands now… maybe wait a couple dates.😀 You’re welcome!

Excellent video! Trust Nina Hartley to provide clear, hot, down-to-earth guidance. My mind is racing with all those new possibilities.

That Betty White quote is awesome. It’s interesting that she can bust something like that out, while Oprah, inspiration to millions of women, can’t even comfortably say “vagina”. There’s definitely a lot of work to be done in this culture of shame and hiding – thanks for furthering openness, awareness, and discussion with a great post, and a great blog!

I SO did not know who Nina Hartley was – shame on me! Blame it on free internet porn…

I checked her out – she’s kinda awesome and I kinda have a crush on her. Ok, not just kinda.

And ay-men to the work to be done! And thanks for reading and commenting!😀
